The second section includes six chapters which provide six trading systems. Finally, the book concludes with a brief recap of the information that was presented throughout the book. Short Term Trading Strategies That Work covers a variety of topics, including some general trading information, several trading systems, and some trading psychology. The first section continues with six chapters which provide a set of six rules for thinking about market behavior. Each trading system is presented in detail, including its entries and exits, and an explanation of why the trading system works. For example, the chapter discussing stop loss of money orders states that they should not be used. The first section starts with a one chapter introduction, which introduces Larry himself, his trading style, and explains why he is such a strong believer in statistical analysis.

Further information about Larry Connors is available at the Trading Markets website. Connors is a professional trader and obviously an author of trading books. The third section discusses trading psychology in the form of several questions that would require immediate decisions if they arose during trading. Various statistics are provided to show the results of each trading system over the past ten years. This makes the book not difficult to read for experienced traders, but completely new traders may not understand everything straight away. Short Term Trading Strategies That Work can be purchased directly from the Trading Markets website. The second section of Short Term Trading Strategies That Work provides several trading systems that are designed for swing trading on various markets. The third section then presents an interview conducted by Larry Connors with Richard Machowitz. As they are presented in the book, the strategies are designed for system trading, but they can all be adapted for discretionary trading.

The book is one of several books that Larry has written on the subject of financial trading. Statistics are an underlying theme of the book, and statistics are used as a basis for much of the information that is presented. Less experienced traders will need to make sure that they understand the concepts behind the information, and the consequences of its use, before deciding what to use in their own trading. As with any trading book, Short Term Trading Strategies That Work includes some things that I do not completely agree with. The rules are presented with various charts and statistics to explain why the rules exist. Short Term Trading Strategies That Work is a trading method book, but its format and writing style differentiate it from the standard trading method books.

When I decided to read and review Short Term Trading Strategies That Work, I was expecting another run of the mill trading method book, but this is not the case. Short Term Trading Strategies That Work provides some very useful information, but it is not a step by step trading manual. Richard is not a trader, but the interview is provided as an example of how psychology plays an important role in trading as well as other aspects of life. Short Term Trading Strategies That Work is the most recent book from Larry Connors. Option trading is like an Ocean! Hope this helps you!

Hedge, and how tax laws apply to option trading profits or losses. The interesting part about SNAP recently is that it has formed 2 pretty text book pennant patterns. The one small caveat to that, many Real Life Traders had some puts going over earnings on SNAP. Those who sold puts, bought stock, or bought calls did quite well from that move.

All I can do is simply three things from here on RHT. As you likely know, every month at Real Life Trading we have a theme. Back to the stock at hand. Below was the predicted bounce off of the 100 SMA on the daily AND weekly. Our last analysis on JBLU worked out really well too. Sorry, back to the point at hand.

That was purely from the shorts buying to cover, locking in gains, AND those traders who waited a few months for the IPO hype to calm down. Well, it seems my friends that DDD just absolutely crushed it recently. So, when I post the next Summer Portfolio, make sure to read it carefully, share it with your friends and continue to LOVE life, live life, and trade it! You can always rebuy later. The Russell 2000 however is still trading magnificently sideways, which is working out perfectly for this once bull put spread, converted into an iron condor. At this point, JBLU is simply chilling at a resistance. SNAP is down from our original posting; which is really what I wanted and expected anyway. By the way, whose voice do you read this article in? The 1st edition of Summer will be out in just a few weeks, so keep your eyes peeled for that gem.

Personally I find the information contained incredibly valuable. This chart goes all the way back to January and has been the basis of our set ups on JBLU in this Spring portfolio. Can you believe this is already the 3rd edition of the Spring Portfolio? This JBLU chart has almost been to gorgeous to bear. My reading voice is George Clooney. But the analysis on AAL since early April has worked strikingly well. What a glorious bounce from the inverted head and shoulders. The main question being: is it going to break out?

Over here in the United States, Spring is winding down, especially here in Nashville, TN. Anyways, I am sharing that with you to get an overall idea and grasp at how some of the stocks and analysis have performed since we started this portfolio just back in March. AAPL is bullish, buy the dip and hold until it hurts, badly. Well, turns out SNAP missed earnings back on May 11th. This stock has simply performed like a majestical unicorn ever since we started analyzing it and creating set ups on it. Therefore, even though SNAP seems pretty bearish on many levels of fundamental and technical analysis, the markets and overly optimistic buyers will not make it not difficult to just stay in a longer term short on SNAP. SNAP forming some sort of oddly shaped bullish channel. We had a killer bull put spread a few weeks back on DAL. AAPL is on a tear. No large surprise there. Below is a screen shot of the Weekly Options Newsletter write up and here was the chart from that analysis.

SNAP as he is intending to play it bullish. Well my family, friends, fans, and followers, thank you so much for reading this write up. The gap was nice, some traders squeaked out about an R or so. The trend on RHT is gorgeously bullish. And on a non expensive stock, too! Below is the weekly chart. However, if AAPL breaks out of this pennant pattern pictured below, look to buy the short term retest of it, on the hourly charts and trade it up into a target. And boy, did that retest gap fill quickly.

In fact, just last week I posted some winning analysis on AAPL. Plan on buying a dip. Markets are also heating up! P500 are at all time highs. You know, airlines in general have been trading pretty well over the last few weeks. It is totally free after all and I release one once a month. We totally wrecked this one.

Hello my beautiful friends, wonderful people, and enriched traders from all over the world. This stock makes a frequent appearance on the Weekly Options Newsletter. The truth is, there is never a sure thing in the markets right? With a similar stock and approach to DDD, we set up the above SSYS put sale a few weeks back, expiring this Friday. Most important, Cohen thoroughly introduces his breakthrough OVI indicator, derived from actual option transaction data. September 2012 and is focused on his OVI Indicator. The Pro: Just as the author suggested, this book is not difficult to read and not difficult to understand, for someone like me who never touched option and who with very basic knowledge of the stock market. If you know nothing about options.

Very simple book on options. Instead, the author used a lot of wordy and repetitive examples. Options simply are not as confusing as the other books make them seem. This book is for you. This book would not have made this list in past years, but I believe options trading has become an important skill for all investors, which in my opinion warrants this book a place on our list. Sincere clearly explains everything you need to know about options, which are a valuable tool either as a hedge for your investments or a standalone means to earn profits. Detailed and yet still in plain English. Very good and clear fundamental explanation of trading stock options. More about Michael Sincere.

Lacking of any information about pricing make me doubt whether I have enough knowledge to start trading option after reading this book. Moving on to a more advanced book now. The examples used in the book were repetitive and very basic. Was not aware that a 2nd edition was available for this book, so might be a bit more coverage of higher tier plays in the new edition. Highly recommended as your first Options book. In Read this book on Kindle as my first book for understanding options.

The book contains both introductory information and advanced strategies for all levels of option traders. Fit the need I was looking for to fill out my understanding the basic options strategies after getting brief intros to options via tastytrade. CEOs, and your investment brokers; this book is for you. Covered call writing makes a person feel good, and this book makes you feel good. This book has taught me everything I needed to know before I got started trading in options. If you have been looking for one book to describe the ins and outs of options, this is the one. Do yourself and your family a favor, and take an evening or two to invest in your future by reading this book. To those who want something which will work, something which is not difficult to understand and wrap your mind around, this book is for you.

Options are complex financial instruments but Sincere explains them simply enough for any level of trader to understand. In short a waste of time with no useful information. Read this book on Kindle as my first book for understanding options. This book could have been much more than what it was. In the beginning it is helpful but then it becomes tedious. While I thought the book was decent, overall, I think it was lacking more depth.

Conservative strategies with limited risk as well as more advanced strategies. The Con: The author try to carefully stay away from using any math formula or diagrams, but I think some basic formula and diagrams can actually better explain the concepts. Understanding Options helped me understand the nature of options and how to trade them effectively, and I now trade them nearly as much as I do common stocks. Disappointed but a little more knowledgeable because of this book. Options were quite complicated but the author in this book explains Basics of Options in a way that anyone could understand.
